The Little Rock Nine

In 1957 nine African American teens were denied entrace to Little Rock Central High School because of segregation influence. Though the US Supreme court 1954 case Brown vs. Board of Education made segregation of any school unconstituional, the local law in Arkansas and the general public were outraged.  They blocked the door of the school with militia.  President Eisenhower sent military reinforcment to Little Rock Central to ensure the safety of the nine newly admitted black students.

They went through hell just to get the same education as their fellow white classmates. 

They are heroes!
