Black History Month Fact #8

In 1881 Lewis Latimer received a patent for his production and use of carbon filaments used in Edison's lightbulb.  It allowed the bulb to burn light for much longer.  Latimer worked along side Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell.  He has been inducted in the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
