Live Passionately: 7 ways to redefine your childhood past time
We find that adulthood brings a lot of baggage especially when it comes to how we opt to spend our free time. Free time in adulthood is split between spending time if you're in the dating scene- well dating, if you're in the family scene then it's spending that good ole quality time that everyone talks about. Outside of that, we spend our time making money. It is the only thing in this generation that gets you a pass out of let's say everything besides a funeral.
I had to work. I pulled extra shifts because I'm going on vacay. I'm bored and alone. All of these are the way we live, week to week, paycheck to paycheck, come-up to come-up and we think it's very normal. Finding myself stuck in this cycle as well I pulled myself out of it. That is not a way to live or even think even for like a minute less a week. My passions are dancing - physically and writing - emotionally. We should all have like maybe three. One of which we turn into a business so my third would be filmmaking. That's the money maker to me. I started doing dance classes and I found that a lot of adults are just looking for something fun to do. Finding people who share your passion is one thing but finding ways to motivate us all is what this post is truly about.
1. TAKE 45 MINUTES A DAY TO FREE THINK
I wouldn't do it in the shower unless you don't mind looking like a prune everyday. Rev Run who I never followed on social media but I always know what he posts, started off leaving daily mantras on his reality TV show. His choice setting, naked in his bathtub. A lot of intellects and people who deal with spirituality go close to water to feel calm. There is a calmness that soothes the body once it is submerged in water. Giving birth in a bath has become more and more popular. Think about the stuff that makes you smile and only smile. No bad moments. Feel like a kid in a candy store and if you can't remember that feeling when they visit a candy store. Children and childhood in general are magical moments. We need as much Harry Potter moments in our adult life than ever before. I call this part "Me X My Imagination". This will eventually be the 45 minutes you spend doing what you love, but it is a process.
2. LOOK UP THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD OR GROUP OF WORDS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY
Passion - strong and barely controllable emotion.Satisfaction - a fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this.Cheerfulness - the quality or state of being noticeably happy and optimistic.
3. INJECT MORE CREATIVITY INTO YOUR DAILY LIFE
I think we forget how easy being creative actually is. Scientists have studied the brain at childhood at adolescence, and at adulthood. The difference is in the type of thinking which has been categorized as exploration and exploitation. When young people see something, they view it as if they were explorers, trying to figure out a way to navigate. As we age and enter into adulthood, we attempt to solve problems by exploiting the current knowledge housed in our brains. No matter how jaded that knowledge may be. The saying goes, the creative adult is the child you survived. You should be a survivor.
4. BREAKING DOWN THE ASSHOLE WITHIN
We are not perfect, no matter how many people our mothers have convinced. Like explained in the last point, we turn into people who just rather not be bothered. This is where we go wrong. Remaining in a childlike state requires you to not think as much. It definitely means do not overthink anything. Just let your brain flow and no, this isn't a meditation period, but in a lot of ways it sort of is. Imagine if for one second we stopped judging ourselves, what we've done, and what we've said to others. It is a new level of free thinking. It makes us see ourselves clearer. The asshole within will be freed.
5. ALWAYS BE TEACHABLE
You ever run into those people that can't be taught. It is the most frustrating way to spend a Saturday night out. They're already convinced they've found a secret about a way to survive life so they're not remotely interested in hearing something that might rock that boat. It's a downfall, to say the least. If the World is consistently changing then we must flow with those tides. Remain a person who can learn something new every day. A lot of adults understand the practice of training but it is in the form to achieve better income. Never for just fun. Passion comes at no price. You could discover a new hobby at any age in life if you are open and dedicated to it.
6. DRAKE SAID IT "YOLO"
You only live once. I mean it was basic yet so damn iconic at the same time that it hasn't lost its edge. Some of us live as if we are getting a second go around when that is just lazy thinking. Once today is gone, it's gone and what you did with it, is done. The more real that becomes to your day to day, week to week, and year to year will change how serious you are about creating a life you want. Survival isn't living. It is just that surviving. We know the saying, we're here today and gone tomorrow. But while we're here, what are we really doing? As children, the World seemed so vast and scary. As we discovered new things about ourselves, we stepped outside and inside different circles. If you died today, would you be satisfied?
7. HAVING FUN ISN'T A CRIME
We see this a lot on Tv Shows where they have parents chaperoning school dances. The mother's whose husband's have left, are the salty ones, they usually have expensive items due to alimony income but they are bitter. They are jealous of young kids. It makes for great comedic laughs but it is all too real. Adults look at fun as a crime, like laughing out loud is something for certain types of people. Being light-hearted and having a good time is how we stay fresh. It doesn't always have to involve adult beverages and past times. It could be just you and your close friends getting down and dirty in some mud. Heading out to the park to do a scavenger hunt just for kicks. Never stop doing the stuff that makes your heart warm.
